Cliff,

You make some great points in your article, and I am in total agreement. One of my biggest concerns when it comes to America and her stand for democracy is the foundation of discontent that the mainstream media has been building since the invasion of Iraq. Adolf Hitler once mused that if you stuck to your lies long enough, with conviction, sooner or later they would be accepted as truth. The media is now capitalizing on that philosophy and hammering the public with tainted half truths and occasionally outright lies to further their liberal agenda.

Unfortunately, due to several miscues by the administration (nobody is perfect, especially under a high power microscope inside a pressure cooker), the media's biased agenda, and the fact that America has become a nation of sound bite news consumers (who for the most part don't think or research past the headlines), America is stuck in limbo between doing what is right (not only for us, but also the world) and sticking it out in Iraq and then dealing decisively with Iran (and defending Israel), or withdrawing from the Middle East and subsequently throwing jet fuel on the global jihadi movement.

The media is doing it's best to set the table for a moderate, or pacifist, or (unrealistic) peace seeker to roll into the White House in 2008. The last nail in the coffin of Repulican dominance in DC could very well come if/when the government stumbles during the next natural disaster, or America sustains another (major) attack on our own soil.

A major attack is inevitable no matter which party controls the White House, but it will be considered a Bush adminstration/ Republican failure (and run into the ground accordingly) if it occurs before the 2008 elections. Take care!
