A tragic blow to the fragile situation in Lebanon that should rightly be condemned. Is it not curious that he was assassinated in a Christian district; where are the three gunmen? Could they have melted away completely?
There is a strong possibility that Syria or its proxies were involved but it may be a little early to point the finger quite so positively at Damascus. There are others who would benefit from increased volatility in the region - not just the usual suspects of Syria and Iran.
